Club Rules and Guidelines

Weybread Sailing Club Ltd is a community of those who enjoy sailing and kayaking or simply being outside, by the water, enjoying the lakeside surroundings.

​

We seek to look out for one another and to care for our environment.

 The following guidelines are for the safety and wellbeing of all club members and as a community we want to hold ourselves and one another to account.

 

​Please note that participation in all aspects of water sports on the lake or use of any of the facilities at Weybread Sailing Club Ltd is entirely at your own risk

Water safety

​

  • Water safety - the lake is not manned so any activity is undertaken at your own risk. Please observe the weather and water conditions and only enter the water activity akin to your skill or experience level. 

  • Whilst on site please support each other and provide assistance to other members if required.

  • Buoyancy aids are to be worn by all when participating in water activities.

  • Swimming is not permitted anywhere in the lake.  It is sailing club and it is extremely difficult to spot a head bobbing in the water from a sailing dinghy or windsurfer

  • WSC Ltd requires all children to be supervised at all times by the principle adult member(s)

  • WSC Ltd highly recommends all members to complete the Water Safety Course including specifics of staying safe on our lake

Insurance

You must have the appropriate insurance for any sailing craft you use while on site, it must include 3rd party cover to protect members  and provide Weybread Sailing Club with the policy number of your current insurance. Weybread Sailing Club recommends all participants of any water activity to have appropriate insurance and holds no responsibility for any activities undertaken by members or non members whilst on site.

Other

Dogs are welcome but please keep them on a lead when there are other people or dogs on site and pick up after them

Security: the gate lock is to keep us and our equipment safe please DO NOT share or give out the code to anyone other than signed up members

Wildlife and natural hazards we share the area with lots of birds, rabbits and moles please look after the wildlife but beware of the holes, hills and deposits they leave behind.
